Application & Admission Procedures

General Information

Applications for master's degree programs are accepted from undergraduate majors in the mathematical sciences and engineering. Applications for a doctoral degree program are accepted normally from holders of a master's degree from a recognized program (preferably an OR program or one in an allied field) who show promise of success at the PhD level, as indicated by previous academic performance and independent research; students with only a Bachelor's degree but with outstanding academic records can apply directly to the Ph.D. program.

GRE scores are required for all applicants whose undergraduate degree is from a non-U.S. institution.  GRE scores are also required for all applicants seeking financial support.  No minimum requirement has been established.  However, prospective applicants should be guided by the following average scores of a recent entering class consisting of twenty students (Verbal 491, Quanitative 735, Analytical 4.0).
