Health Systems Optimization

Jessica Mele is a Ph.D. candidate in Operations Research with a focus on Health Systems Engineering. She pursued a Ph.D. to develop a specialization that would allow her to make contributions in an applied field and she hopes to continue using novel tools to improve health care efficiency and accessibility throughout her professional career.

Research Interests

Mele’s research utilizes data analytics and computational modeling to evaluate risk factors and disease burden associated with infectious respiratory diseases, such as community-acquired pneumonia and COVID-19, to help inform medical decision-making.
