Demetra Protogyrou attended Virginia Military Institute, where she played soccer her first year before deciding to hang up her
boots. She has since put her cleats back on and joined the NC State Club Soccer Team, where she has become the “old lady.”
Protogyrou completed an internship at John’s Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab that showed her the possibilities of operations research in the real world. It influenced her to pursue higher education and continue developing her research skills.
Research Interests
Protogyrou’s research focuses on logistics in the case of a natural disaster.
